Working Conditions Aboard the April

In a commendable act of humanity, the bulk carrier 'Orient Angel', which was making its way from Itqaui to Dunkirk, responded to a critical situation on April 1, 2021. The vessel alerted the CROSS Gris-Nez authority after spotting a migrant boat in distress near Dyck. A dozen migrants, who were struggling at sea, were successfully rescued and brought aboard the 'Orient Angel'. Due to adverse weather conditions in the vicinity, the transfer of these individuals back to shore was not immediately feasible. Consequently, the migrants are currently being cared for on the ship until a suitable opportunity arises for a safe transshipment. The 'Orient Angel' is expected to dock in Dunkirk on April 2, where further arrangements will be made.
