Working Conditions Aboard the Atlantic-Spirit

On the morning of July 29, 2019, the cargo vessel 'Adfines Star' encountered a mechanical issue with its fuel injection pump while navigating approximately 20 miles southeast of the Land's End Traffic Separation Scheme (TSS), at coordinates 49 42 07 N, 005 45 16 W. The ship, which was on its way from Flushing to Montreal carrying 16,998.7 tonnes of the oil chemical HTCon and with a crew of 19 onboard, experienced this failure during its journey. Fortunately, the crew had a spare fuel injector pump readily available and was able to address the problem promptly. The estimated repair time was around 90 minutes, after which the vessel successfully resumed its voyage towards Canada, with an anticipated arrival date of August 7.
