Recovery Efforts Disrupted by Crane Malfunction on Atlantic Tonjer

Jan 24, 2019 11:42

On January 23, 2019, the salvage vessel 'Atlantic Tonjer' made its way into Harlingen port after experiencing a crane malfunction which halted its efforts to recover debris from the 'MSC Zoe' cargo incident. This stop allowed the ship to offload the previously collected cargo remnants, which are set to be processed by Visser ATR for BDS Harlingen. The extensive debris recovery operation is expected to span several months, reflecting the complexity of the task at hand. As of January 24, the 'Atlantic Tonjer' remained docked in port, awaiting repairs and further instructions.
