On October 16, 2023, at approximately 4:25 p.m. local time, the luxury yacht 'Australia' encountered a mishap shortly after setting sail from a marina at Sentosa Island, Singapore. The vessel ran aground on a nearby reef, leading to a breach in its hull, which allowed water to enter the ship and caused it to tilt to the port side. Fortunately, six hours later, with the assistance of tugboats, the yacht was successfully refloated and relocated to an anchorage east of Sentosa. By 9:00 a.m. UTC on October 17, the 'Australia' safely docked at Keppel Bay in Singapore.
