The Azamara-Onward: Crew Feedback and Vessel Data

In a strategic move to enhance its cruise offerings, Sycamore Partners has officially acquired the celebrated 'Pacific Princess'. This addition comes on the heels of the private equity firm's purchase of Azamara, now welcoming a fourth R-class vessel into the fleet. Comparable in size to its sister ships, the 'Pacific Princess' joins the ranks of the 'Azamara Journey', 'Azamara Quest', and 'Azamara Pursuit', all known for their ability to navigate intimate rivers and access smaller, less-visited ports that larger vessels cannot. Excitingly, this ship is set to embark on its inaugural season in Europe in 2022.

On April 14, four residents from Hawaii stepped off the 'Pacific Princess' at Honolulu Harbor, marking a significant moment amid ongoing COVID-19 measures. The disembarkation involved two couples from Oahu, who underwent health screenings revealing no symptoms of COVID-19. Following the protocols, they were escorted home by police to begin a mandatory 14-day quarantine. This precaution was taken seriously as all other passengers aboard the cruise ship were not permitted to disembark. The 'Pacific Princess' is currently in the process of refueling before it heads towards its final port of call in Los Angeles.

The Pacific Princess embarked on an adventurous 111-day world cruise, setting sail from Fort Lauderdale's Port Everglades on January 5. After an exhilarating journey, the ship docked in Fremantle on March 21, where the majority of passengers disembarked to return home. As of now, 115 passengers are still aboard the vessel. The reasons for this include some travelers not meeting the International Air Transport Association's fitness criteria for air travel, while others have individual medical conditions, unrelated to COVID-19, that prevent them from flying. The ship is scheduled to disembark four residents from Hawaii in Honolulu on April 13 when it docks to refuel. Following this stop, the Pacific Princess will make its way to Los Angeles, where the remaining 111 passengers will finally disembark on April 24.
