Working Conditions Aboard the Bai-Lu

On the afternoon of June 22, 2019, a tragic maritime accident unfolded in the Eastern Gulf of Siam when the Vietnamese fishing vessel 'CM 99596-TS' was struck by the tanker 'Ocean Unicorn'. The incident occurred approximately 70 miles southwest of Hon Khoai island during the vessel's journey towards Thailand. Thankfully, all seven crew members of the fishing vessel were successfully rescued by a nearby fishing boat, and reports indicate that they were unharmed. Witnesses from the fishing vessel identified the tanker involved in the hit-and-run as the 'Ocean Unicorn'. Following the incident, the tanker made its way to Map Ta Put, Thailand, where it docked late at night on June 23. Subsequently, the 'Ocean Unicorn' resumed its journey to Singapore on June 25, departing at 7:40 a.m. with an estimated time of arrival slated for June 28 at 3 p.m.
