On the morning of March 25, 2021, the cargo ship 'Bergfjord' was involved in a significant maritime incident when it collided with a fishing boat while navigating southeast of Ravenna. The 'Bergfjord' was on its route from Shengjin to Ravenna at the time of the accident. As a result of the collision, the fishing vessel sank, but all four fishermen on board were successfully rescued. After the incident, the 'Bergfjord' continued its journey and safely docked at Piomboni in Ravenna at 2:20 p.m.

On August 24, 2020, the Port Authority of Amaliapolis was alerted around noon by the agent of the 'Bergfjord', which was docked in Almyros, regarding a grave incident involving a crew member. The 63-year-old man collapsed while performing cleaning duties in the engine room. Emergency services quickly transported him to the Almyros Health Center, where medical personnel declared him deceased. Subsequently, his remains were sent to the Larissa Forensic Medicine Service for a thorough autopsy. The 3rd Port Department of Amaliapolis, part of the Central Port Authority of Volos, initiated a preliminary investigation into the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate event.
