The engine room sustained significant buckling on the starboard side, compromising the diesel oil storage tanks. To bring 'Blue Star' back to operational status, the main electric systems, cables, and main switchboard connections are being renewed. The steel cutting phase has been finalized, and the teams at the shipyard are preparing to install new steel. Regarding the boiler damage, the owners have supplied spare parts for the incinerator. Additionally, a new propeller and rudder unit are currently under production, closely monitored by the class surveyor. Repair efforts continue proactively, highlighting the dedication to restoring the 'Blue Star' to the seas.

On March 10 at 10 a.m., the 'Blue Star' successfully departed from its berth at the Navantia Ferrol Yard, where it has resided since early February. The tanker was towed by the tug 'VB Hispania' (IMO: 9476018), with additional support from the tugs 'Ramón Casas' and 'El Hocho' until reaching the outer harbor of Caneliñas. Following recent emergency repairs, an agreement could not be finalized between the vessel's owner and the shipyard regarding the costs for comprehensive repairs.
