The 151-meter jack-up vessel Seafox 5 has officially departed from Damen Verolme Rotterdam (DVR) after completing an extensive four-month refit. This upgrade involved a significant enhancement to the vessel's main crane, extending its boom to adequately support upcoming projects involving next-generation wind turbines. With these improvements, Seafox 5 is now primed for offshore wind endeavors in depths of up to 65 meters. Originally delivered in 2012 and owned by Seafox BV, the world's leading operator of offshore jack-up units and support vessels, Seafox 5 stands out as the largest vessel in its fleet. Measuring 151 meters in length and 50 meters in width, the rig boasts a powerful 1,200-tonne main crane and accommodates up to 150 crew members. Her arrival at DVR in September of last year marked the first dry docking since her debut, allowing for crucial maintenance and upgrades. As Seafox 5 embarks on this exciting journey, it symbolizes a significant step forward in the offshore renewable energy sector.

On December 13, 2013, the Seafox 5, the flagship self-propelled installation jack-up vessel of the Workfox fleet, celebrated a significant achievement by completing the installation of 80 monopiles and transition pieces for the DanTysk Offshore Wind Park. This ambitious project took place in the German North Sea, approximately 70 kilometers off the coast of Sylt. The foundations for this innovative wind farm were constructed under the expert guidance of the Aarsleff Billfinger Berger Joint Venture (ABJV). The DanTysk Offshore Wind GmbH (DTOW) oversees the ownership of this groundbreaking renewable energy initiative.
