On March 15, 2013, the tugboat Fairmount Sherpa completed a successful delivery of the semi-submersible drilling rig GSF Arctic I to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain. The journey began off the coast of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and spanned nearly 4,000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean at an average speed of 4.1 knots, as reported in the company's press release. Owned by the Houston-based company Transocean, the GSF Arctic I is engineered for deepwater drilling operations, with capabilities to reach depths of up to 10,000 meters. Measuring 78 meters in length and 61 meters in width, the rig is a formidable asset in the offshore industry.
