The vessel was sailing from Lisbon to Brindisi, situated approximately 20 nautical miles from the Spanish coast when the emergency arose. Following consultations with medical professionals at the Radiomedical Center, the Spanish Maritime Safety Agency (Salvamento Marítimo) dispatched the SAR helicopter Helimer 202 to the scene. The swift operation resulted in the patient being hoisted from the ship and subsequently transported to Almería Airport, where they were rushed to a hospital for urgent medical intervention.

In a dramatic turn of events on April 1, 2022, a medical evacuation was carried out from the cruise vessel 'Borealis' while it was traversing the waters between Ajaccio and Malaga. The situation prompted a swift response from the search and rescue unit, with the SAR helicopter Helimer 203 dispatched by the CCS Almería to assist. The timely intervention enabled the medical team to hoist the passenger and promptly transport them to the Antonio de Torres airport for immediate care.

Holland America Line (HAL) has officially announced the sale of four cruise ships: the 'Amsterdam', 'Maasdam', 'Rotterdam', and 'Veendam'. The transactions involve undisclosed buyers and are structured in pairs. The 'Maasdam' and 'Veendam' were sold to one company in August 2020, while the 'Amsterdam' and 'Rotterdam' are scheduled to transfer to another buyer in the fall of 2020. These ships will be operated by Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines Ltd., based in the UK, which is also a wholly owned subsidiary of Bonheur.
