In a significant achievement for Chevron, the inaugural cargo has been successfully offloaded from the Papa-Terra heavy oil development, projected to be the company’s largest investment in Brazil’s Campos Basin. The offshore Suezmax vessel, ‘Brasil Voyager,’ uniquely designed for this purpose, conducted the first offloading at the site. According to Les Wood, a manager at Chevron Brazil, this milestone underscores the ongoing progress of the project and exemplifies the fruitful collaboration between Chevron and Petrobras. On May 9th, the ‘Brasil Voyager’ facilitated the lifting of approximately 740,000 barrels of oil from the Floating Production Storage and Offloading unit (FPSO) at Papa-Terra, sourced from the inaugural two production wells in the area. This Suezmax tanker is projected to offload around 950,000 barrels of crude from Papa-Terra every 40 days, marking a pivotal moment in the development of this offshore oil field.
