On the morning of December 9, 2018, a maritime incident occurred in the Singapore Strait when the tanker 'Breeze' collided with the Indonesian coaster 'Makmur' near the sea border between Indonesia and Singapore. The impact resulted in the sinking of the coaster, although all 11 crew members aboard were successfully rescued. Unfortunately, four of the rescued individuals sustained serious injuries during the incident. At the time of the collision, the 'Makmur' was transporting merchandise from Singapore to Thailand, while the 'Breeze', which had departed from Yeosu, was en route to Galle, with an estimated time of arrival set for December 14. Following the collision, the 'Breeze' was held for an 11-hour investigation at Singapore Anchorage on December 9.
