On December 23, 2016, the container ship Bremen Express arrived at Tanger-Med Anchorage around 1 p.m. following a loss of cargo incident. The vessel, which is scheduled to continue its journey to Rotterdam, was temporarily taken out of service after the mishap. The container loss occurred on December 19, about 510 nautical miles southwest of Ponta Delgada in the Azores, at coordinates 35 05N 036 00W. At the time, the Bremen Express was en route from Norfolk to Jeddah.

On December 19, the container ship "Bremen Express," with a capacity of 8,750 TEU, encountered an unexpected rolling incident while making a scheduled repair stop in the Atlantic Ocean. The precise cause of the rolling has not yet been identified, leading to some containers being lost overboard. At the time of the occurrence, the vessel was approximately 1,400 nautical miles from Europe, but fortunately, it remained safe and unharmed. This impressive 336-meter-long ship, constructed in 2008, is part of the CEC service fleet. After promptly notifying the relevant authorities about the incident, the "Bremen Express" resumed its course. The ship is slated to dock at a Mediterranean port for thorough inspections prior to its passage through the Suez Canal on its way to Asia. Thankfully, there were no injuries reported among the crew, and investigations into the causes of the container loss are underway.

On December 18, 2014, at approximately 2 p.m., a fire broke out aboard the container ship 'Bremen Express' while it was moored at Global Terminal in Jersey City/Bayonne, New York. The incident began with one of the containers filled with coconut charcoal, a popular flavoring agent, which ignited before spreading to an adjacent container. Emergency response was swift; both land and marine units from the Jersey City Fire Department swiftly arrived on the scene and worked diligently to combat the flames. By 5:30 p.m., they successfully extinguished the fire. Fortunately, the contents of the second container remained intact. Following the incident, both containers were safely offloaded and situated on a nearby pier for further assessment, while hazardous materials equipment was deployed to assist in the evaluation of the situation. Preliminary investigations suggest that the cause of the fire was accidental.
