FPSO BW Catcher Secures Position at Catcher Field Ahead of First Oil
The latest advancements in Premier Oil’s Catcher project indicate that the company is on track to achieve its first oil production by the end of this year, following the arrival of the Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel, BW Catcher. The FPSO reached the Catcher field, located in the U.K. North Sea, on October 18. Subsequently, the hookup of the Submerged Turret Production (STP) buoy mooring system was successfully completed on October 19. Premier Oil confirmed that the FPSO conducted a rotation test around the buoy on October 20. As the final pull-in of the risers and umbilicals is currently in progress, commissioning activities have commenced concurrently, marking a significant step forward for the Catcher project.
