In a strategic move to enhance its presence in the Middle East, Oldendorff Carriers, a well-known German shipping company, has successfully acquired Emirates Ship Investment Company (Eships), based in Abu Dhabi. This acquisition forms part of a partnership with a UAE government investment fund, purchasing Eships' shares from the Mubadala Development Company. Although specific financial details of the transaction remain undisclosed, Eships announced that Oldendorff will fully assume control of its operations as both companies aim to establish long-term contracts in the dry bulk freight sector. Eships Oldendorff Logistics, initiated in 2007, is recognized for providing comprehensive marine transportation and logistics services throughout the Arabian Gulf. The company boasts an impressive fleet, including three specialized bulk transloaders and a variety of self-unloading barges and tugs. Furthermore, it has two eco-friendly 94,000-dwt transloaders currently under construction at Jiangsu New Yangzijiang Shipbuilding in China. Initially founded as a ship investment firm, Eships currently manages nearly 30 owned and chartered tankers and bulk carriers, marking a significant milestone in maritime investments.
