The K Line vessel California Highway has embarked on a significant journey, transporting the first batch of Toyota Venzas to Russia and Ukraine from the bustling Port of Brunswick, Georgia. This milestone signifies Toyota's ongoing commitment to leveraging its U.S. manufacturing capabilities to serve global markets. Corinne Akahoshi, National Manager of Marine Logistics Operations at Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc., expressed, "The export of American-built Venzas to Russia and Ukraine further solidifies Toyota’s commitment to establishing its U.S. manufacturing operations as a key supplier of vehicles for global markets. We are proud to partner with the Georgia Ports Authority and all other parties involved, and are grateful for their support of this initiative." Manufactured at Toyota’s state-of-the-art facility in Georgetown, Kentucky, the new Venzas contribute to the employment of approximately 6,600 individuals, alongside a substantial $6 billion investment in the region. Notably, the Georgetown plant stands as Toyota’s largest manufacturing site outside of Japan. The Colonel’s Island Terminal at the Port of Brunswick is recognized as the third busiest autoport in the nation, having processed 612,489 auto and machinery units in 2012 alone, showcasing its vital role in automotive logistics.
