The Callisto: Crew Feedback and Vessel Data

On January 20, 2019, the vessel 'Esta Desgagnes' encountered a significant challenge when a mooring line became entangled in its propeller. This incident occurred at approximately 12:30 a.m. in Tracy, Quebec, pinpointed at coordinates 46 02.926 N, 073 07.105 W. In response to the emergency, a diver was summoned to remove the obstruction. Following the successful removal of the mooring line, the ship was able to berth safely in Sorel on January 21, ensuring minimal disruption to its operations.

On December 2, 2018, the 'Esta Desgagnes,' traveling from Sept Iles to Quebec, experienced an engine failure at coordinates 046° 47' 29" N, 071° 13' 34" W, just two miles away from Quebec City. The incident occurred at 11:25 a.m. Fortunately, the dedicated crew swiftly undertook necessary repairs, enabling the ship to continue its journey. The vessel successfully docked at Levis Quebec Pier later that evening at 11:15 p.m.

On June 4, 2017, the U.S. Coast Guard swiftly responded to a maritime incident involving a 17-foot recreational vessel and the tanker 'Esta Desgagnes' in Lake St. Clair, situated roughly two miles off the coast of Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan. The call for assistance came from the captain of the tanker, who utilized VHF channel 16 to alert authorities about the collision and reported that the operator of the recreational boat had fallen into the water. A rescue team from Coast Guard Station St. Clair Shores promptly deployed a response boat and was able to locate the operator safely clinging to a buoy. Fortunately, the individual was unharmed, but the recreational boat sustained substantial damage and ultimately sank just outside the navigation channel. Coast Guard investigators are currently examining the circumstances surrounding the collision to determine the cause.
