On December 12, 2023, at approximately 4 p.m., the Turkish ferry 'Cenk T' came under attack while docked at the port of Chornomorsk in the Odesa region. The assault involved an Iskender ballistic missile and UAVs launched by Russian forces. The fire erupted on the ferry later that evening, prompting immediate action from nearby tugs, which sprayed water to control the flames. The situation was eventually stabilized with the assistance of the port's fire brigade and the ferry's crew. The 'Cenk T', operated by the company AKSA, was en route to deliver essential supplies including food, diesel, gasoline, and gas generators to Romania—believed to be aimed at providing electricity to local areas near the port. Also on board were numerous Turkish trucks carrying cargo. Fortunately, no injuries among the crew or truck drivers were reported, and they were safely evacuated. The ferry 'Cenk T' embarked on its last voyage from Valencia to Marseille on May 13, 2025. Following the crossing, it proceeded to Alexandria on May 15, 2025. After a brief stay, the vessel set sail again on May 23 and reached Aliaga’s waters on May 27, where it anchored at position 38° 52' N, 026° 59' E.

The vessel CENK T, with IMO number 7528635, has officially been sold for scrap metal in China as of September 2010. This marks the end of its operational journey, as the ship transitions from active duty to being dismantled for its materials.
