On December 12, 2023, at approximately 4 p.m., the Turkish ferry 'Cenk T' came under attack while docked at the port of Chornomorsk in the Odesa region. The assault involved an Iskender ballistic missile and UAVs launched by Russian forces. The fire erupted on the ferry later that evening, prompting immediate action from nearby tugs, which sprayed water to control the flames. The situation was eventually stabilized with the assistance of the port's fire brigade and the ferry's crew. The 'Cenk T', operated by the company AKSA, was en route to deliver essential supplies including food, diesel, gasoline, and gas generators to Romania—believed to be aimed at providing electricity to local areas near the port. Also on board were numerous Turkish trucks carrying cargo. Fortunately, no injuries among the crew or truck drivers were reported, and they were safely evacuated. In a separate incident within the Odesa port area, one employee of a private firm sustained injuries, and a cargo loader was damaged.
