Hartmann Reederei's New LPG Tanker Series Approaching Completion in China
A cutting-edge series of six LPG carriers, each with a capacity of 5,000m3, is on the brink of completion at a Chinese shipyard for Hartmann Reederei, marking a significant expansion in the German maritime sector. This development comes as the second instance of a German operator strengthening its fleet of gas tankers in a short span of time. Among the six Tiger class tankers, four vessels—JS CAESAR, JS CHUKAR, JS ALULAR, and JS JAGUAR—have already been successfully delivered and are currently operational with Hartmann's subsidiary, GasChem Services, based in Hamburg. The final two ships in this series, named JS LEKVAR and JS OCULAR, are being meticulously completed and are slated for delivery in January. These fully-pressurized vessels, with a weight capacity of 4,900dwt, are being constructed by Sinopacific Shipbuilding, a prominent shipyard group known for its rigorous standards and innovative designs. This venture not only underscores Hartmann Reederei's commitment to enhancing its fleet but also highlights the growing importance of efficient and modern LPG transportation solutions in the maritime industry.
