The Christian-Essberger: Crew Feedback and Vessel Data

On December 28, 2020, the dedicated volunteers of the Kinghorn RNLI Lifeboat sprang into action to conduct a medical evacuation of a sick crew member aboard the product tanker 'Christian Essberger', which was anchored off the coast of Kirkcaldy. The call for assistance was made to HM Coastguard at 4:22 p.m., reporting that the crewmember's health was rapidly deteriorating. The lifeboat crew launched promptly at 4:30 p.m., and within just six minutes, they arrived alongside the stranded tanker. The crew member was able to descend safely onto the lifeboat, where the RNLI team prepared him for the brief journey back to shore. Upon reaching the Kinghorn lifeboat station, he received immediate care and attention from the lifeboat crew until an ambulance arrived. The casualty was subsequently transported to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy for further medical treatment. This successful operation underscores the vital role of the RNLI in maritime health emergencies.
