US Coast Guard Conducts Medevac Operation 225 Miles Offshore Galveston
On September 29, 2020, a dramatic medevac operation unfolded 225 miles off the coast of Galveston, Texas, when the U.S. Coast Guard came to the aid of a 28-year-old male crew member aboard the tanker 'Chrysanthemum'. The emergency was initiated after the captain reported that the crew member was suffering from severe abdominal pain. Coast Guard District Eight watchstanders swiftly sprang into action, consulting with a duty flight surgeon who promptly recommended that a medevac be conducted.
