Cl-Yingdu Ship Details and Seafarer Feedback

On July 17, 2021, a crew member aboard the 'CL Yingdu' was successfully medevaced by the U.S. Coast Guard approximately 223 miles southeast of Cape Hatteras due to an urgent eye injury. The incident was reported to the Coast Guard's Fifth District command center, which quickly initiated a response. After consulting with a U.S. Coast Guard flight surgeon, the decision was made to proceed with a medical evacuation. Two aircraft from U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth City, including an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter and an HC-130 Hercules, were deployed to the scene. Upon arrival, the Jayhawk aircrew swiftly sent a rescue swimmer to perform a hoist operation and safely transfer the injured crew member. He was subsequently taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia, for further medical care.
