CSL TRIMNES Runs Aground in Norway: Quick Refloating Operation

The CSL TRIMNES, with IMO number 8908583, encountered a grounding incident in the waters of Nord-Trøndelag, central Norway, at 0200 local time on July 17, 2011. At the time of the incident, the vessel was in ballast, carrying 48 metric tons of heavy oil and 90 metric tons of diesel oil. In response to the grounding, crew members efficiently discharged ballast from the tanks and transferred fuel to the aft tanks, effectively raising the fore of the vessel. The timely assistance of the salvage tug Harald V facilitated the refloating operation, and the CSL TRIMNES successfully regained its buoyancy. Subsequently, the vessel proceeded under its own power to Rorvik for a thorough investigation. Fortunately, no visible damage or leaks were reported following the incident.
