On March 10, 2023, the 'Doña Josefina' tanker experienced a technical malfunction while en route from Valparaíso to Talcahuano. The vessel registered an alarming spike in the exhaust gas temperature of its main engine. In light of this situation, the crew made the prudent decision to halt the ship’s progress for a thorough investigation. Unable to quickly diagnose the underlying issue, they chose to anchor in Caleta Chanco for an extensive evaluation. As experts assessed the situation, plans were already being formulated to facilitate the 'Doña Josefina's' return to its planned route, with hopes to continue its journey later that afternoon.

On January 14, 2025, the tanker Doña Josefina experienced a significant propulsion loss while navigating from Quintero. As a precautionary measure, the vessel dropped anchor near the Club de Yates de Recreo in Valparaíso Bay, within the commune of Viña del Mar. This technical failure led to the resignation of several crew members aboard the ship. To prevent any potential accidents, the trawler Unionsur was relocated from the vicinity. Remarkably, the Doña Josefina has recently arrived on the Chilean coastline as a fresh addition to the Marval fleet, set to take over operational duties from the aging tanker Don Pancho, which is nearing two decades of service supplying ships in the area.

The tanker 'Northsea Alpha' was undergoing repairs in Kiel on March 26, following a fuel line failure that led to smoke in the engine room and an automatic shutdown. This incident resulted in the vessel being disabled and subsequently grounded in the waterway between Oldenbüttel and Breiholz. An emergency repair operation allowed the tanker to reach Kiel, where, in addition to routine maintenance and inspection, divers were called in for a damage assessment. After the repairs were successfully completed, the 'Northsea Alpha' departed from Voith Quay in Kiel on April 9 at 8:30 PM, setting its course for Naynäshamn with an estimated arrival time of April 11.
