What Crew Members Say About Dongfang-Kantan-No.2

On August 16, 2023, a critical medevac operation unfolded in the Arabian Sea as the Indian Coast Guard responded to a distress call from the 'Dong Fang Kan Tan No 2'. The vessel, which was on its journey from China to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), reported a medical emergency involving crew member Yin Weigyang. Displaying alarming symptoms including severe chest pain, it was suspected that he was experiencing a cardiac arrest. In a rapid response, the Mumbai Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) dispatched a helicopter from the Coast Guard Air Station Daman. The helicopter successfully hoisted Yin Weigyang from approximately 200 kilometers offshore. Following the airlift, the crew member received immediate medical assistance and was subsequently taken to a medical facility in Daman for further treatment.
