On June 3, 2011, the tanker Eiltank 39 encountered an unfortunate mishap while transiting the Elbe-Seiten-Canal near Lüder in the Uelzen community. The vessel allided with a bridge, resulting in significant damage to its wheelhouse. Fortunately, the ship's captain emerged unscathed despite having forgotten to lower the wheelhouse before passing under the structure. Demonstrating quick thinking, the captain successfully maneuvered the vessel to a nearby berth for necessary repairs. The estimated cost of the damages is approximately 30,000 Euros.
