Nov 05, 2025 10:20

On October 30, 2025, at approximately 3 a.m. UTC, the bulk carrier 'Eternal Bright' experienced an engine failure while traversing the Çanakkale Strait. The vessel, which had departed from the Russian port of Ust-Luga on October 10 with a cargo of 75,650 tons of coal, encountered technical difficulties off Kepez. Coordinated by the Çanakkale Ship Traffic Services Center, the vessel received immediate assistance from local pilot services and was subsequently towed by tugs 'Kurtarma 3' (IMO: 9335939) and 'Kurtarma 19' (IMO: 9995129). Chialease Finance Secures New Charter with Oldendorff for YM Rightness

Apr 14, 2016 10:09

In an exciting development for the shipping industry, Chialease Finance of Taiwan has reportedly finalized a charter agreement with Oldendorff for the bulk carrier YM Rightness, which has a deadweight tonnage of 77,684 dwt and was constructed in 2004. The charter is set to span a duration of four to eight months, with a daily rate established at $5,200. The vessel is expected to be delivered in Ulsan, South Korea. This deal marks a continuation of Oldendorff's strategic fleet expansion, as the German carrier has successfully secured seven panamax vessels on long-term charters since the beginning of 2016. Notably, among these charters, three have been kamsarmax vessels, each under four years old, reflecting Oldendorff's willingness to invest in newer ships at competitive rates that exceed those reported for today's transaction.
