Fedor Ushakov: New Icebreaking Standby Vessel Named in Honor of Russian Naval Legend
PAO Sovcomflot (SCF Group) proudly announced the naming ceremony for its latest icebreaking standby vessel, named Fedor Ushakov. This state-of-the-art vessel is named after the esteemed Russian naval commander Admiral Fedor Ushakov (1745-1817), renowned for never facing defeat in battle. Admiral Ushakov played a pivotal role in establishing the port of Sevastopol and enhancing Russia’s Black Sea fleet. The Fedor Ushakov is a robust 3,824-dwt multifunctional vessel and marks the third addition to a series of four icebreaking supply and standby vessels developed by SCF Group, as part of a long-term collaboration with Sakhalin Energy, the operator of the Sakhalin-2 project. Earlier this year, the first two vessels of this series, Gennadiy Nevelskoy and Stepan Makarov, were successfully delivered.
