In the aftermath of the accident, the quick actions of the pilot boat 'Pandu Selat Morong' led to the successful rescue of the tug's master and one other crew member. However, two additional crew members remain unaccounted for. The Indonesian Navy ship 'Tedung' and a patrol boat have joined the search efforts to locate the missing individuals, with the tanker’s captain sending out a man-overboard alert to request aid from nearby vessels. On June 25, 2011, the Dutch Navy showcased its commitment to maritime safety by conducting a vital medevac operation from the tanker 'Mare Tirrenium' located five miles off the coast of Little Bonaire. The naval vessel Hr. Ms. 'Johan de Witt,' which was in the area for scheduled exercises, received a request for assistance from the Coast Guard. In a swift response, a medical team was deployed to the 'Mare Tirrenium' via a rigid-hulled inflatable boat (RHIB). Once the medical team onboard stabilized the patient, they utilized a Lynx helicopter from the 'Johan de Witt' to execute a careful winching operation.
