On October 26, 2018, the bunkering vessel 'Flandriya' encountered a mishap while supplying fuel to the container ship 'CMA CGM Louga' at the St. Petersburg port. During this operation, the maneuvering of another container ship, the 'Lisbon Express', to an adjacent berth led to the unfortunate breaking of 'Flandriya's mooring lines. Fortunately, the crew quickly took action to regain control and re-secured the lines, ensuring the vessel remained safe. However, a subsequent inspection revealed that 'Flandriya' had sustained minor damage, consisting of two dents measuring approximately 30 centimeters in diameter and a deflection of about three centimeters on its side. To address the damages, the tanker was safely berthed at the Kanonerskiy Ship Repair Yard on October 29, 2018, for necessary repairs.

The search and rescue (SAR) mission for two fishermen who went missing after their vessel was struck by the cargo ship 'Flandriya' in the Gulf of Finland has officially been called off. Following the conclusion of the SAR operation, EMERCOM personnel have commenced visual inspections of the incident site. In a related effort, a team of divers has successfully conducted a thorough examination of the underwater portion of the 'Flandriya's' hull to gather further insights into the incident.

In a distressing incident on May 22, 2011, the tanker 'Flandriya' reported a serious maritime accident at approximately 5:30 AM. Communicating via Channel 9 VHF, the vessel alerted Traffic Control about a fishing boat obstructing traffic in the Sea Channel near Neva Gate, St. Petersburg. While the fishermen were engaged in net placement, the 'Flandriya' issued warning signals and attempted to steer clear of a potential collision. However, due to the powerful currents in the river, the warning proved ineffective. Tragically, as the fishing boat became trapped under the starboard bow of the tanker, it was unable to avoid the impending disaster. With the tanker unable to halt its progress due to navigational constraints in the area, the fishing boat was swiftly engulfed by the tanker’s movement. Out of the three fishermen on board, one was saved by a nearby vessel belonging to the same owner. Sadly, two individuals remain unaccounted for as search efforts continue. According to the rescued fisherman, their boat's propeller had become ensnared in the fishing net, rendering them immobile and unable to maneuver away from the approaching tanker. Following the incident, the 'Flandriya' continued its journey to St. Petersburg and ultimately docked at Barochnyy Mar 23. The maritime community watches closely as search operations persist for the missing fishermen.
