On May 26, 2019, at 09:40 a.m., the refrigerated cargo vessel Eastern Bay experienced a grounding incident in the Suriname River estuary while navigating toward its destination, Paramaribo, after arriving from Rotterdam. The vessel's grounding obstructed access to the port. Fortunately, thanks to the high tide on May 27 at 12:30 a.m., the Eastern Bay was successfully refloated and managed to dock in Paramaribo by 02:40 a.m. the same day.

With a crew complement of 21 on board, the vessel was transporting a substantial cargo consisting of 1,040 tonnes of heavy fuel oil along with various containers during its journey from Rotterdam to Paramaribo. Despite the hiccup, the 'Eastern Bay' successfully made its arrival in Paramaribo on April 15 at 6:15 p.m., ensuring a key delivery was fulfilled.

On January 6, 2012, the cargo vessel 'Eastern Bay' encountered mechanical difficulties while navigating past Hoek van Holland on her way to Radicatel. As a result, she required the prompt assistance of the tugs 'SD Seal' and 'SD Seahorse' to safely return to Rotterdam.
