Fure West Faces Engine Malfunction Off Cornwall
On March 11, 2019, the chemical tanker 'Fure West', en route from Antwerp, encountered a significant main engine failure, resulting in restricted propulsion capabilities. The incident occurred at coordinates 50° 56.40' N, 004° 55.88' W, approximately 15.5 nautical miles WNW of Bude, Cornwall. Despite the engine issues, the vessel managed to maintain its position using limited power and promptly requested tug assistance from its operating company. At the time of the incident, 'Fure West' was transporting a cargo of 1,440 tonnes of ultra-low sulfur diesel (ULSD). Fortunately, the tanker was able to restart its main engine and continued its journey towards Cardiff, reaching the port at a speed of 12.9 knots. The vessel successfully berthed at approximately 11:10 p.m. on March 12.

Titan LNG Streamlines Bunkering Process in Amsterdam with Innovative T-Piece Technology
Titan LNG has made headlines by successfully bunkering the M/T Fure West at the port of Amsterdam, Netherlands, utilizing cutting-edge T-piece technology. This innovative T-piece method allows the simultaneous flow from two delivery trucks into a single bunkering hose, significantly accelerating the bunkering process. The operation achieved an impressive combined pumping rate of 28 tons per hour (tph). During this particular port call, a total of six trucks contributed to the seamless operation through the T-piece system. Hans Lindgren, the vessel operator from Furetank, expressed enthusiasm about the new technology, stating, 'The T-Piece reduces the bunkering time for our vessel significantly, and we look forward to Titan LNG making it available in other ports as well.' This advancement not only enhances efficiency but also sets a new standard in the LNG bunkering process.
