On February 9, 2020, at 8 a.m., the tanker 'Astro Perseus' ran aground at the Port Said Anchorage after veering outside the designated fairway. Initial recovery efforts commenced the same day, with multiple tugs deployed to assist in refloating the vessel; however, all attempts were unsuccessful. Salvage operations were suspended overnight, resuming the following day on February 10. By midday, the tugs 'Mosaheb 1' (IMO: 9429429) and 'Mosaheb 4' (IMO: 9544982) were actively engaged in the process at coordinates 31° 18.51' N 032° 22.64' E. Finally, after considerable effort, the 'Astro Perseus' was successfully refloated at 2:30 p.m. on February 10. The tanker was en route from Ust-Luga to Tianjin, carrying a substantial cargo of crude oil.
