Chernomorsky Shipbuilding Yard, located in Nikolaev, has successfully delivered the first of four factory freezer trawlers, named 'General Troshev', to the Russian company, 'Preobrazhenskaya Base of Trawling Fleet'. This state-of-the-art vessel is specifically designed for over-trawling and midwater trawling operations. Registered under the Russian Registry of Shipping, the 'General Troshev' is also equipped for unrestricted navigation. Valery Kalashnikov, the General Director of Chernomorsky Shipbuilding Yard, expressed optimism regarding the project, stating, 'This marks the first of four trawlers from our renewed commitment to building this type of vessel. The next trawler will likewise be developed for the Preobrazhenskaya Base of Trawling Fleet. We are currently in discussions with potential clients, particularly from Russia, for further units. We view this sector of shipbuilding as highly promising.' The 'General Troshev' boasts impressive specifications, including a design speed of 14.3 knots, a displacement of 5,715 tons, a length of 104.5 meters, a width of 16 meters, a moulded depth of 10.2 meters, and a deadweight of 1,757 tons, showcasing its capabilities for efficient fishing operations.
