On February 6, 2025, the United States government unveiled a new sanctions package aimed at the tanker 'CH Billion'. This vessel had transported over 700,000 barrels of Iranian crude oil from a Tehran-controlled tanker in Singapore waters in 2024. In addition to its Iranian connections, the 'CH Billion' was implicated in the oil trade originating from Russia's Pacific port of Kozmino. Last month, the fleet involved in this illicit trade faced significant sanctions, which also affected two additional tankers: the 'Gioiosa' and the 'Star Forest'. Moreover, the Comoros-flagged 'Siri' was identified for its illicit activities. Although previously sanctioned, the 'Siri' has been operating under various disguises after its Iranian owner forged documents and obscured its name to masquerade as a different tanker, the 'New Prime'. The latest sanctions also encompass a range of entities and individuals from multiple countries associated with this oil trade conducted on behalf of Tehran's Armed Forces General Staff and the sanctioned front company, Sepehr Energy Jahan Nama Pars.

A new charter has been successfully arranged, securing a rate of $12,000 per day for a duration of 1+1 years with VITOL. This agreement underscores the ongoing demand for maritime contracts in the current market, reflecting both parties' commitment to a long-term partnership.
