Legal Actions Initiated Against 'Ratna Blessing' for Unsettled Repair Bills
On July 23, 2016, the 'Ratna Blessing' found itself in a legal predicament as Otto Marine's Batam shipyard subsidiary, PT Batamec, initiated an arrest due to unpaid ship repair invoices. The ship is currently entangled in proceedings at the High Court of Singapore, filed by PT Batamec against both the vessel and its owner, RS Marine Investments. This company is helmed by Rakesh Shankarlal Tulshyan, the proprietor of Wirana Shipping Corporation based in Singapore. The repair services at the Batam facility were rendered from December 13, 2015, to March 21, 2016. Although partial payments were made for these services, several outstanding charges went unpaid. RS Marine Investments Pte. Ltd has not settled the remaining balances despite multiple reminders. As a result, PT Batamec felt compelled to pursue legal remedies to recover the owed funds. The management team of PT Batamec is actively coordinating with the Group's legal counsel to ensure the protection of their rights against the vessel and safeguard the group's assets.
