On the evening of September 24, 2017, a maritime incident occurred involving the freighter 'Amisos' and the tanker 'Golfstraum' in the northern lock of the Kiel Canal at Brunsbüttel. While navigating from Ust-Luga to Villagarica, the 'Amisos' struck the 'Golfstraum' shortly after 9 PM as it exited the lock. The collision resulted in minor damages; the stern of 'Amisos' made contact with the starboard side rear of 'Golfstraum', leading to scratches on both vessels and a dent in 'Amisos's' railing. Authorities responded promptly, but by that time, the 'Amisos' had already set sail toward the North Sea. The 'Golfstraum', meanwhile, was able to continue its journey from Paldiski to Antwerp by 10 PM the same evening.
