Discovery of Missing F/V Ida Wreck Near Grenå

In a remarkable development during a routine survey south of Grenå, the fishing vessel 'Ida' (IMO 9080950) was located by the 'Jens Sørensen' after being reported missing since December 1, 2007. The wreck was found at coordinates 56° 19.55'N 11° 01.95'E. Divers conducted an inspection of the site, revealing that the wreck rises approximately 4.7 meters above the seabed. The captain of the 'Ida' had been identified 11 months following the ship's mysterious disappearance near Gilleleje. Fortunately, maritime authorities have determined that the wreck poses no navigational hazards, and thus, a salvage operation is deemed unnecessary.
