On September 16, 2021, the oil tanker 'Navig8 Aragonite', whilst navigating from Brunswick to Venice, alerted the Coast Guard Key West watchstanders around 4:45 PM about a small 9-foot raft spotted about 24 miles off Cal Sal, Bahamas. Taking swift action, the tanker rescued the individuals onboard before facilitating their transfer to the 'Raymond Evans'. Notably, one person required emergency medical evacuation due to health concerns. The following day, September 17, at approximately 10 AM, a Customs and Border Protection Air and Marine Operations flight crew notified the Sector Key West watchstanders about another migrant raft located around 18 miles from Elbow Cay, Bahamas. These individuals were also transferred to the 'Raymond Evans' and were reported to be in stable condition without any health issues.
