This exciting development was announced in a company press release following a momentous naming ceremony held on April 29th at E2 quay. The new vessel, designated Hull No. 2018, is a remarkable 75,000 DWT chemical tanker commissioned by Odfjell SE. The honor of naming the ship fell to Mrs. Arnhild Odfjell, partner of the late Mr. Bernt Daniel Odfjell, who previously served as chairman of Odfjell. Notably, this new 'Bow Pioneer' carries the same name as the original ship, Hull No. 2001, that was delivered by DSME. Back in 1982, DSME had built two 22,500 DWT chemical tankers for Skibs A/S Storli, the predecessor to Odfjell SE. Although the original Bow Pioneer has since fulfilled its purpose, Odfjell's return to DSME for this advanced construction signifies the enduring legacy and partnership between the two entities in the maritime industry.
