In a significant development for the offshore industry, the refurbished vessels 'Seajacks Leviathan' and 'Seajacks Kraken' have completed extensive maintenance and upgrades at Shipdock Amsterdam, a key player under Damen Shiprepair & Conversion. Commissioned by Seajacks UK Ltd., based in Great Yarmouth, these two jack-up sister vessels have undergone a multitude of critical repairs and enhancements as they prepare to support upcoming contracts in the North Sea for offshore wind farms and oil and gas installations. The refurbishment of 'Seajacks Leviathan' involved the meticulous removal of its blade racks after it successfully executed a wind turbine and propeller blade operation. Following this, the vessel underwent further enhancements, including the installation of a heli deck within Shipdock's spacious 250-metre Panamax dock. This new structure was prefabricated by Niron Staal, another subsidiary of Damen Shiprepair & Conversion, located conveniently on-site in Amsterdam, ensuring an efficient workflow. Moreover, beneath the deck, reinforcements have been strategically placed to accommodate future modifications, such as the heavier mounts intended for lifeboat davits. With these upgrades completed, both ships are now fully equipped and ready to take on their next assignments, reinforcing Seajacks' commitment to quality and operational excellence in the marine sector.
