Vroon Offshore Unveils New Subsea Support Vessel VOS SUGAR in IJmuiden Ceremony
On April 21, 2023, Vroon Offshore celebrated the official naming of its subsea support vessel (SSV) VOS SUGAR during a special ceremony held in IJmuiden, Netherlands. This remarkable vessel is a DP2, SPS-classed SSV, stretching 68 meters long, and represents one of the latest advancements in subsea technology, being among two newbuilds developed at Fujian Southeast Shipbuilding in China. Following her arrival in Amsterdam earlier in the month, VOS SUGAR has completed the installation of an advanced active heave-compensated crane, positioning her to commence operations in the subsea support sector. The vessel's inaugural assignment is with NDE, where she will engage in dive operations and maintenance tasks for turbine foundations at an offshore wind farm located in German waters. To ensure safe and efficient access to the wind turbines, the VOS SUGAR incorporates a cutting-edge motion compensated offshore access system. Furthermore, this vessel is designed with exceptional accommodation standards and features low noise and vibration levels, making it an asset for any offshore project.
