Hulin Ship Details and Seafarer Feedback

The tanker 'Hulin' has been detained in Beirut following a request from Interpol's headquarters in France. The detention stems from an investigation into the vessel's potential involvement with a sanctioned terminal in Libya back in 2016. After being held for some time, the 'Hulin' was granted permission to leave Beirut on September 25, 2019. Following its release, the tanker successfully docked in Huelva, Spain, on October 4, 2019.

On September 2, 2019, the tanker 'Hulin' was apprehended by Lebanese authorities at the Beirut anchorage. This action was taken at the request of Libyan officials, stemming from the vessel's previous operations in Libya dating back to 2016. As of September 17, 2019, the 'Hulin' continued to be docked at coordinates 33° 54.91' N and 035° 31.17' E.

On August 31, 2010, at approximately 19:55, the tanker HULIN (IMO 9447043) encountered a critical situation as it maneuvered hard to port and ran aground on Horseback Shoal. This location is situated on the southern side of the shipping channel, near light D55, about 1.3 nautical miles northeast of Hamilton Island, located at the western end of Lake St Francis. The grounding incident was reportedly linked to an emergency that occurred within the vessel's engine room, leading to its complete departure from the shipping channel and immobilization in water depths of 5 to 6 meters. The following morning, on September 1, the HULIN was discovered adrift at the lower approach wall beneath Snell Lock, where it underwent thorough inspection. Shortly after the initial grounding and despite its earlier predicament, the vessel successfully managed to extricate itself from the aground position.
