Oman Drydock Company (ODC) is poised to unveil significant insights regarding its inaugural major LNG repair contract during the esteemed SMM shipping trade fair set in Hamburg. This marks a pivotal moment for ODC, the premier ship repair yard in the Middle East, as it completes a critical project on the Ibra LNG vessel, owned by the Oman Shipping Company (OSC), one of the Gulf's leading shipping firms. This repair represents a landmark achievement as Ibra LNG is recognized as the first membrane containment LNG carrier to undergo repairs at ODC, following the company’s successful attainment of the Gaztransport & Technigaz (GTT) quality systems license this past June. Sheikh Khalil Al-Salmi, the Deputy CEO of ODC, expressed his satisfaction with the project: "The Ibra carrier project demanded a multitude of complex repair and maintenance operations. We executed hull blasting and painting, conducted a cargo tank inspection using GTT guidelines, and performed a comprehensive overhaul of the vessel’s machinery. This included essential work in the engine room, propeller, boiler, and generator, as well as various outfitting and electrical tasks. Our swift and efficient service, coupled with our state-of-the-art facilities and optimal geographic location, empowered us to finalize the project ahead of the anticipated schedule.
