Maran Tankers, part of the prominent Angelicoussis Shipping Group, has secured a groundbreaking agreement with Sembcorp Marine, marking a major advancement in eco-friendly shipping practices. This new partnership includes a substantial order for 13 scrubber retrofitting projects along with the installation of four ballast water management systems. This deal stands out as the largest green shipping initiative undertaken by the Singapore-based shipyard to date. Under the terms of the contract, Sembcorp Marine is set to equip four suezmax tankers and nine very large crude carriers (VLCCs) from Maran Tankers with state-of-the-art scrubbers and ballast water management systems. The project is scheduled to commence during the third quarter of this year and is expected to continue through February 2020, reinforcing the commitment to sustainable maritime operations.
