Working Conditions Aboard the Ineos-Marlin

In a significant advancement for the maritime and gas shipping industry, Danish shipping company Evergas has officially announced the delivery of the world's inaugural Type-C Very Large Ethane Carrier (VLEC), the JS INEOS MARLIN, to INEOS Trading and Shipping. This state-of-the-art vessel, capable of transporting a remarkable 85,000m³ of ethane, is set to facilitate trade routes between the United States and China, according to a recent press release from Evergas. The JS INEOS MARLIN boasts the largest Type-C tank ever constructed, achieved through the innovative design of a newly built Trilobe tank that pushes capacity limits to an unprecedented 85,000 CBM. Moreover, the vessel is equipped with a cutting-edge dual-fuel engine system that generates over 16,000 Kw, featuring MAN Dual-fuel engines and MAN Alpha Propellers, and is ingeniously powered by the very ethane it transports. This milestone in maritime technology not only enhances shipping efficiency but also underscores Evergas's commitment to advancing the capabilities of gas carriers.
