Paragon Shipping Ends Charter Agreement for M/V Friendly Seas Amid Payment Issues
Paragon Shipping Inc., based in Athens, has announced the termination of its charter agreement with Deiulemar Compagnia di Navigazione SpA for the M/V Friendly Seas. This decision comes as a result of ongoing payment defaults by the charterer, who has not made due payments since January 5 and has also failed to provide necessary voyage instructions for the 2008-built Supramax bulk carrier, which has a deadweight tonnage of 58,779 dwt. Following multiple attempts to resolve the issues, Paragon has delivered a formal written termination notice to Deiulemar but has yet to receive a response. The company is now actively pursuing alternative employment opportunities for the M/V Friendly Seas and is considering options to seek damages due to the breach of contract by the charterer.
