Working Conditions Aboard the Jose-Progress

In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, the Venezuelan Prosecutor Office has detained 17 crew members from the vessel 'Jose Progress', alongside three Venezuelan nationals, for alleged involvement in narcotics smuggling operations. The arrested crew includes 13 Filipinos: Enrico Gómez, Elpidio Leones, Ibrahim Nodi, Rodney Insong, Derwing Oabel, Daryl Alveniz, Hans Villamor, Jan Amor, Charlie Mella, Anthony Sindagan, Néstor Molina, Constante Gano, and Kendric Calanog; three Russians: Alexander Kravtson, Oleg Varkamov, and Michael Marasigan; and one Ukrainian, Yuriy Trybusian. All suspects face charges related to drug trafficking and complicity in criminal activities. The 'Jose Progress' has been anchored at Puerto La Cruz Anchorage since October 9, 2018, and has also been seized as part of the investigation.
