Kaan-Deval Vessel Reviews and Specifications

On November 13, 2025, the commercial vessel 'Kaan Deval' was detained off the coast of Gyali Island due to a series of serious safety deficiencies. Inspections revealed eight critical issues, seven of which fell under the category of serious grounds for detention. These deficiencies included: 1) Emergency system - Lack of control during fire drills; 2) Emergency fire pump and associated piping not compliant with required standards; 3) Pollution Prevention - inadequate testing of the 15 PPM alarm arrangements; 4) Fire safety - Ventilation systems not meeting requirements; 5) Fire safety - Non-compliant fire detection and alarm systems; 6) Radio communications - SART/AIS-SART functionality issues; 7) ISM - ISM certificate not meeting stipulated requirements. After addressing the cited deficiencies, the 'Kaan Deval' was released on November 17, 2025, and subsequently set sail towards Fethiye, successfully arriving the following day on November 18, 2025.
